Arrested four times, Paul Schneider became one of the first theologians of the Confessing Church to be murdered by the Nazis, and the first protestant pastor to die in a Nazi concentration camp. In a nut shell, Schneider was labelled a firebrand. Like a lot of the Confessing Church Pastors and theologians, his theological resistance was “politically incorrect”. His defiance was a veritable revolt against ‘compromise with Nazi ideology, and the indifference of the people.’ As a result the ‘terror state would forbid him to preach, and attempt to silence his opposition by enforcing a form of exile’. Schneider was…

“Unreached peoples are unreached for a reason. They’re hard, difficult, and dangerous to reach. All the easy ones are taken.” David Platt John Allen Chau, a Christian missionary from the United States, was murdered last week as he attempted to bring the Gospel to the people on the remote North Sentinel Island off the coast of India. The 26-year old knew the risk involved in making contact with the tribespeople. In fact, Chau was shot at a day earlier. The Daily Mail obtained several journal entries Chau penned detailing the incident: “A little kid shot me with an arrow –…

A group of Muslims set up a pro-Islamic stall at the site of last week’s terrorist attack in Melbourne in hopes of “spreading the good news” of the Quran. Avi Yemini from the Australian Liberty Alliance confronted the men and asked if they thought it was appropriate to set up an Islamic stand at the site of the attack. The conversation quickly became heated when the men denied any link between Islam and terrorism, instead pointing the finger at Yemini and the Jewish people, accusing them of being the real terrorists. Police eventually intervened and separated the men. “This is…

A woman in Norway was taken to court for harassment after she questioned a naked man showering in the women’s change room at her local fitness centre. In July 2016, the woman was showering in the female only facility when a completely naked man entered. The woman questioned the man thinking he unintentionally walked into the wrong change room. The man claimed he had a right to use the women’s facilities because he legally identified as a woman. The woman later contacted management who reportedly told her individuals with male genitalia do not have access to female only facilities. The man,…

Advertiser and photographer Ona Janzen said, “If I had known they don’t support SSM I wouldn’t have chosen to spend a good portion of my marketing…

The video shows Dion breaking into a maternity ward before she transforms the newborn boys and girls into gender-neutral babies. “Our children. They are not really our children,” Dion says in the advert. “As we are all just links in a never-ending chain that is…

If Hitler were to look at Europe today, what would he see? He would see a Europe dominated by Germany, with France its loyal lapdog. He would see anti-Semitism on the rise, with more and more Jews wanting to leave Europe. He would see that the disabled and the weak are being culled out of the gene pool through abortion. Just as he sought to do with Eugenics. He would see the elderly, weak and disabled convinced that they should take themselves out of society because they have been convinced they are a burden. Euthanasia is less dramatic than gas…

Jordan B Peterson has described the United Kingdom’s assault on free speech as “terrifying,” warning there are consequences to criminalising speech that are worse than we can imagine. In a segment hosted by BBC Question Time, the Canadian professor warned: “There are increasing restrictions put on people’s ability to speak forthrightly and the consequences of that restriction and the criminalisation of what hypothetically constitutes as offensive speech is going to be a cure that’s so much more worse than the disease that we can hardly imagine it…” WATCH:

By no means is this a conclusive run down on what I see as the need to find, and advocate for, a fair use of the vehicles we choose to communicate, and receive information through.  By pointing out inconsistencies, and connecting them to a possible cause, my purpose here is primarily an attempt to suggest, that when it comes to social media, we practice the proverb of looking before we leap. A few years back an incident showed me the contrast between hard reality, and cheap comment. Comments from people, who in the comfort of relative security, only seem to be far more concerned with the side of the story that sells best, than with finding balance. Surely,…

Maylands bookstore Rabble Books and Games has invited two Perth drag performers Donna Kebab and Perri Oxide to read queer-themed books to “young kids”. The social media accounts of the two men are littered with erotic female costumes, which can only be intended to sexually excite their audience. The bookstore claims “this event is for everyone, but especially young kids. If you are a grown up whose heart sings at the idea of this (like mine), you are so welcome to come.” One of the gay men dressed in drag, Perri Oxide, posts sexualised XXX-themed content to social media, with…

Economics tells us that the value of a thing is nothing more or less than what someone is willing to pay for it. The most amazing painting, the rarest antique, the most ingenious book… none of these have any value if no-one wants them. What, then, is the value of a person? If this question were asked in eighteenth-century Britain, the answer would be something like “three guineas, maybe four. Does he have all his teeth?” At that time, the slave trade treated humans as a commodity within a capitalist framework. The economics definition applied:like gold, oil and toilet-paper, a…

On Twitter Labor Senator for Victoria, Kim Carr said, “last time this happened was by Brendan Nelson.” However, in Carr’s next tweet he went on to call Birmingham’s actions “unprecedented.” “The former Minister has interfered with Australia’s peer review system,” Carr tweeted. “Is it because he did not like the topics, the…

Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto told CBN News, “Basically it’s revenge. The European parliament has a majority of MEPs who are pro-migration, absolutely pro-migration. “And since the Hungarian government has proven in the last three and a half years that migration is a negative phenomenon, migration is dangerous, and migration can and must be stopped, this annoys the majority of the members of the European parliament. This annoys the bureaucrats in Brussels. This annoys the European commission…” Szijjarto went on to…

Hidden away, near to the middle of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s ‘The Cost of Discipleship,’ rests a three page essay on marriage called ‘Woman.’ Why Bonhoeffer named this chapter so specifically is a mystery.  My best guess here is that he was looking to the growing ease by which society has sold and objectified sex. The chapter is an analysis of Jesus’ views on marriage, divorce and sexual immortality; or as Bonhoeffer states, ‘sexual irregularities’(p.85). The texts referred to are Matthew 5.27-32, 1 Cor. 6:13-15 & Gal 5:24, and it forms part of his larger discussion on ‘The Sermon on The Mount.’ What Bonhoeffer means by ‘sexual…

Tasmania is set to become the first state to remove gender from birth certificates in a move to appease transgender activists. Amendments also include removing the need for trans people to have sex-change surgery before switching genders. The Australian Christian Lobby said the amendments essentially abolished gender, further “homogenised humanity” and “greatly diminished” the significance of birth certificates. Lyle Shelton from the Australian Conservatives…
