The decision to suspend the official Twitter account of the pro-life film Unplanned has backfired marvellously, with the page gathering tens of thousands of followers since the suspension was lifted.
Twitter has offered no explanation as to why the account was removed during the weekend of the film’s theatrical release, but the move resulted in the account attracting over 30,000 followers.

The film’s official Twitter account also pointed out blantant censorship in the plantform’s trending algorithms:
“Very interesting algorithm that determins what is trending. In the last 3 hours we have had 20,000+ new followers, 1 million views of Unplanned Trailer, 130k tweets and over 6 million impressions. But let’s look at what is treading over Unplanned acccording to Twitter.”
A screenshot attached to the Tweet showed the current ‘Top trends’ on Twitter, such as ‘Emily Bett Rickards’ with 1,529 tweets, #BetoForAmerica with 4,577 tweets, and #YelpReviewYourHome with 1,219 tweets.
