Playboy’s reputation for providing intellectually engaging reading material doesn’t rank all that high in the list of influential mainstream media outlets. So it’s easy to not take any activism from the morally questionable publication all that seriously. In early May, however, the publication touted an anti-homeschooling article from Christopher Stroop, a freelance writer who has contributed articles to Playboy and Salon. Stroop seized on recent gun violence in the United States to fire a broadside at white evangelical Americans. In doing so he conflated Christian homeschoolers with domestic terrorism, accusing them of white supremacy, racism and radicalization. Stroop, a self-proclaimed…

Bill Shorten’s poorly aimed verbal sucker punch at Scott Morrison draws from the assumption that those who voted “yes” in the LNP’s gay marriage popularity survey are a bankable vote for Labor. This political maneuver was a bad call. It betrays a deep overconfidence in the Labor political machine and underestimates the intellectual capacity of the discerning public. Shorten’s goal was clear. Capitalize on the fearmongering and misrepresentations, which he and Pro-SSM advocates were so keen to employ, instead of engaging in rational, respectful debate. As a servant of that public, he seems to forget that Labor had originally refused…

Pennsylvania State Representative and LGBTQ activist Brian Sims has offered $100 to anyone who will DOX the three young teenage girls he filmed quietly praying outside of a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic. “What we’ve got here is a bunch of protesters,” Sims told his followers during the live broadcast. “A bunch of pseudo-Christian protesters who’ve been out here shaming young girls for being here.” As he approached the teens, Sims turned his camera towards them and offered his 50k followers $100 if they could DOX the young girls. “I’ve got $100 to anyone who will identify any of these three.…

The senate ballot paper can be daunting. This year, in SA, there are forty-two candidates, most of whose names you have never heard of before. Six of them will end up sitting in the Senate, deciding Australian Legislation for the next six years. That’s an important job, so we should look closely and think about who we will vote for. This article is, hopefully, a good starting point to work out how you will vote if you happen to be a South Australian. I’m going to introduce all the parties/candidates and the basic propositions that they represent. I’ve grouped them…

The LGBT community’s grievances and the reason for their sensitivity regarding the Israel Folau controversy are understandable. A non-biblical version of sin has been misused over the years to beat people down, not bring them to faith and repentance. (See Psychiatrist, Karl Menninger’s ‘Whatever Became of Sin?’, 1976) That historical misuse, however, doesn’t justify the unjust writhing and screaming being thrown towards Folau. None of this justifies dehumanizing a man and taking away his bread and butter. None of this justifies any corporation such as Qantas, bullying, via economic sanctions, companies they do business with, such as Rugby Australia. As…

In August 1939, the Soviets signed a non-aggression treaty with the Nazis. This treaty was called the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact and it allowed the Soviets room to explore Stalin’s expansionist policies. Largely hidden behind the grotesque Abyss of National Socialism’s dark reach for Europe in 1940, Stalin’s Communist forces moved into Poland and Finland.  The Soviet offensive against Poland began in September, 1939; the offensive against Finland (known as The Winter War) began in November. Unlike, Poland, Finland had the benefit of only fighting a war on one front. ‘The Winter War’ ended five months later. Finland lost some territory, but…

Back in August 2016, in an article called, “Why Trump is not Hitler, & Why Evangelical Americans are Not German Christians”, I argued that the more pressing danger was Turkey’s, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the fanaticism surrounding him. His recent decision to use the tragic pro-Communist, eco-Fascist attacks in New Zealand, as a political whip, particularly against Australians, only furthers the point I attempted to make. The piece was written in response to the large amount of naysayers who were predicting another Holocaust if Donald Trump was to win the 2016 United States Presidential race. Equating Trump with Hitler was…

Children as young as five will be taught lessons on homosexuality and transgenderism after the UK “Conservative” government finalized a new curriculum. According to RT, the lessons, set to roll out across UK schools next year, will be mandatory for all students, making it illegal for parents to remove their children from the classroom for the lessons in secondary school. Over 100,000 signatures have been gathered in a petition opposing the move, demanding the choice to opt-out of the lessons be retained for the length of the child’s school education. “We believe it is the parent’s fundamental right to teach their…

Media reports are confirming what many have speculated over the past week. American actor, Jussie Smollett has been charged with staging the anti-LGBT, race-hate attack, which he claimed to be a victim of back in January. As this was breaking, Twitter users were worked up into a frenzy over snippets of a John Wayne interview with Playboy magazine in 1971. This resurfacing of Wayne’s, “racist, anti-LGBT remarks”, strangely coincided with the breaking news about Jussie Smollett. While some of the criticism is defensible, the timing of the “news”, and the “viral” reaction to it is a convenient red herring. Why…

Foster care support organisation, My Forever Family, has launched a new campaign to encourage homosexuals to ‘grow their pride’ by becoming foster carers. The University of Technology Sydney has introduced “all gender” bathrooms in an effort to fulfill their commitment to being a university with a “culture of inclusion.” The all gender bathrooms can be found in ten UTS campus buildings, including the university’s main tower building. A statement from UTS reads: “Some people within our community don’t identify with traditional binary genders (male and female). Others don’t feel comfortable using a bathroom designated by gender, sometimes because they’ve had a negative experience using a single-gender bathroom due to their appearance or gender identity. “All gender bathrooms provide a space that can be…

A former police officer in the UK has had his thoughts “checked” by police claiming to represent the LGBTQ community. Humberside Police tracked Harry Miller to his place of work, after acquiring 30 tweets, including a number of limericks that he had “Liked” from his personal account. According to the officer, Miller had not committed a crime by “Liking” the tweets, but the event was still to be recorded as a “hate incident.” After being subject to a 30-minute police inquiry, Miller was warned to watch his words or risk losing his job, as potential LGBTQ employees would not have…

Born out of conversations with a friend from the United States, I was given the opportunity to read a compilation of fragments and essays written by Simone Weil called: ‘Oppression and Liberty’. The compilation flows in chronological order and presents some of Weil’s thoughts on anthropology, economics, politics, ideology and war. Simone was a French intellectual. Like Jacques Ellul, whom she presumably never met, Weil worked in the French resistance and was well schooled in Marxism. Among many others in the elite French communist circles of mid 20th Century, she was a contemporary of rebel and excommunicated member, Albert Camus.…

In 2010 Steve Tourloukis, a Canadian father of two, requested prior notification when his children, aged four and six, were to be taught about homosexuality, LGBTIQ issues and abortion in the classroom. The school denied Toutloukis’ request suggesting it was mandatory that his children be educated, or reeducated, on these issues. What followed was a seven year battle with the public school board, the Elementary Teacher’s Union, and lesbian, Premier Kathleen Wynne’s Liberal government. According to Life Site News, “Tourloukis made it clear in his 2012 legal challenge he did not object to his children being taught facts, or to…

As Western societies lurch from one disastrous fad to another, there have been increased efforts to ban what are called gay conversion therapies. Hollywood has naturally offered its obligatory contribution with the movie Boy Erased, Academia chipped in with a report from La Trobe University – the institution that birthed the Safe Schools Coalition – which joined with the Human Rights Law Centre and Gay & Lesbian Health Victoria to produce research to show that ‘LGBT conversion therapy remains a real problem in Australian religious communities.’ The Victorian government over 2016-2017 banned such therapy, and the Conservative government in the…
