Israel Folau has appeared on Sky News for his first televised interview since he was sacked by Rugby Australia for sharing a Bible verse on his Instagram account. Speaking with host Alan Jones, Folau revealed that Rugby Australia offered him money to remove his offending Instagram post. “As a Christian, I feel it’s my duty to share it,” Folau said, “and that’s part of who I am and what my purpose is… I’m wanting to share that message of love God is trying to extend to all people.” WATCH:

Democratic candidate Julián Castro has said transgender females should have the right to an abortion. When asked during the first 2020 Democratic debate if his reproductive rights plan would cover abortion, Castro said: “I don’t believe only in reproductive freedom, I believe in reproductive justice. “And what that means is just because a woman or—let’s also not forget someone in the trans community, a trans female—is poor, doesn’t mean they don’t have the right to exercise that right to choose. And so, I absolutely would cover the right to have an abortion.” WATCH:

US President Donald Trump has praised Australia’s ‘illegal immigration’ policy, sharing a series of Australian government advertisements published by the Department of Home Affairs designed to deter illegal immigrants. “These flyers depict Australia’s policy on Illegal Immigration. Much can be learned!” President Trump tweeted on Thursday. The adverts read: “No way. You will not make Australia home,” “If you come here by boat without a visa, you won’t be settled in Australia,” and “Australia’s borders are closed to illegal migration.” These flyers depict Australia’s policy on Illegal Immigration. You know that things have really spiralled downward when Princeton atheist and bioethicist — Peter Singer — is defending Israel Folau and his freedom to express his Christian convictions. Singer writes: [Folau’s] post no more expresses hatred toward homosexuals than cigarette warnings express hatred toward smokers. The only rational reason that anyone would get so upset about Folau’s post is if you actually believe that he is speaking the truth about heaven and hell. Singer continues: [Folau’s beliefs] do not trouble me, because there is, in my view, no god, no afterlife, and no hell. Nor do I differentiate, ethically,…

The Sydney Morning Herald and the Brisbane Times published an opinion piece today which referred to the teaching of the Apostle Paul in the New Testament as ridiculous, vicious, and cruel. Pru Goward, former NSW Liberal minister who authored the piece, said: Christianity hasn’t prevailed for two thousand years without taking on its opponents. There was always going to be a Folau, a Christian somewhere, who was going to promote his Christian beliefs relying on the as-yet-unbanned Bible (as his faith dictates) in all its muddled, wonderful and sometimes cruel teachings to challenge today’s freedoms. Exactly what freedoms Folau has…

Madonna’s promoters are firing back at the New York Post for allegedly lying about poor ticket sales for the artist. At the beginning of June, the New York Post’s Richard Morgan reported that ticket sales for Madonna concerts promoting her latest album, ‘Madame X’, were lagging and had ‘tarnished’ the tour. Morgan went on to compare previous ticket sales in much larger venues with current ticket sales the smaller venues chosen for the concerts, suggesting that the comparison indicated ‘Madonna was struggling to sell them’. Chris Willman from Variety magazine cautiously came to Madonna’s defence, citing promoter, Arthur Fogel, (Live…

A 54-year-old disabled grandfather has been fired for sharing an ‘Islamophobic’ Billy Connolly sketch on his personal Facebook page. Brian Leach was a check out worker at Asda in Mill Street West, Dewsbury for almost five years when he was “grassed-up” by an offended female employee who complained that the skit was anti-Islamic, The Mirror reports. In the offending video, Connolly mocks both Christianity and Islam, and refers to suicide bombers as “f***ing idiots.” “They said seven people, all Asian (Pakistani) as I understand it, had complained including the woman at head office who escalated the complaint,” Leach said. “I…

The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission has been asked to investigate the Australian Christian Lobby over its role in helping Israel Folau raise more than a million dollars for his legal fight against Rugby Australia, the Sydney Morning Herald reports. But the ACL have not breached any rules for maintaining their charitable status, according to ACL’s Managing Director, Martyn Iles. In an interview on Sunrise today, Iles explained: “We got legal advice on this before we went ahead with it. But also, I think it’s just the latest thing… Our purpose is to advocate for changes in law and public…

In a recent interview with Andrew Denton, Madonna has said that she wants to challenge the Pope regarding the Catholic Church’s opposition to abortion. Not only that, but she double-down and said that Jesus would support a woman’s right to choose. Is it just me, or is Madonna looking and sounding like the product of a computer-generated deep fake? But there’s a fundamental problem with her approach here, and it’s that it betrays the underlying feminist rhetoric of #NoUterusNoOpinion. Because both the Pope and Jesus are men. So, doesn’t that mean that their opinions should be automatically excluded? For example,…

Her personality displayed in the media is down to earth, her relative modesty and unassuming humour make it easy to like her. She seems like she should be a voice of moderation. But yesterday Liz Ellis effectively accused Maria Folau of supporting or endorsing homophobia in a comment on Twitter. There are serious problems with Liz’s comments, problems which reveal a toxic practice of intolerance and bigotry against…

An Emily’s Voice promotional which featured the words, “a heart beats at four weeks”, on four Newcastle buses has been removed. The action was taken after an outraged Newcastle resident accused the pro-life promotional material of being “dangerous propaganda; a guilt driven directive on what [a woman should] do with their body.” The complaint was posted on Facebook to the NSW Transport Minister’s page and “action was immediately taken” to tear the material down. HBO’s “Chernobyl” is, according to IMDB, the highest-ranking show of all time with a 9.7-star rating (out of 10). This is an important question—especially regarding the subject of nuclear power—because it has the power the influence so many people’s perceptions and opinions on the subject. Significantly, the central character in the…

Israel Folau’s GoFundMe page has been shut down after the crowdfunding platform apparently found the campaign to be in violation of their terms of service. Folau, who is taking on Rugby Australia for his right to be included in the game after he was sacked for sharing a Bible verse on his personal Instagram account, is now being excluded by GoFundMe, once again, in the name of “inclusivity.” Think about that for a second. Nicola Britton, regional manager for GoFundMe Australia said: “Today we will be closing Israel Folau’s campaign and issuing full refunds to all donors. After a routine…

A British judge has ordered that an abortion be performed on a 22-week pregnant mother, despite objections from the woman and the woman’s mother. Justice Nathalie Lieven said the ruling was in the best interest of the woman after she was diagnosed with “moderately severe” learning difficulties. “I am acutely conscious of the fact that for the State to order a woman to have a termination where it appears that she doesn’t want it is an immense intrusion,” the justice said in the ruling. “I have to operate in [her] best interest, not on society’s view of termination.” A social…

A couple of months later, parents Jason and…
