Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison led a Melbourne church in prayer over the weekend, praying in particular for Indonesian tsunami victims and Australian farmers suffering from drought.
“Lord, we just pray for your spirit and your presence there [in Suawesi],” the Prime Minister said. “That you’ll bring comfort to despair, that you’ll bring insight to confusion.
“That you’ll be with President Widodo and you’ll give him what he needs to comfort his people and to see their way through this terrible, terrible crisis. We pray for your blessing on them this morning, Lord. And Lord, we just thank you for Jesus…”
The tsunami followed a 7.5 magnitude earthquake in Sulawesi, Indonesia causing the deaths of hundreds of people.
Prime Minister Morrison went on to pray for Australia’s farmers saying, “Lord, we pray for our farmers. Lord, we pray for our rural communities, our indigenous communities.
“Lord, we pray that you will bring light, that you’ll bring hope, that you’ll bring encouragement, and Lord, that you will bring rain.”
