A transgender activist who filed complaints against several female beauticians after they refused to wax his male genitals has lost his court case, according to a decision released on Tuesday. In 2018 Jonathan Yaniv, now known as Jessica, filed multiple complaints with the Human Rights Council in British Columbia accusing numerous estheticians of denying him service based on his gender identity. A jury has ruled against a father trying to prevent his seven-year-old son from undergoing a chemical castrating gender “transition.” The youngster’s father, Jeffrey Younger, was fighting for custody of the boy, James, claiming his ex-wife, Anne Georgulas, was “transitioning” their son against the boy’s will. Initially, the boy’s mother reportedly brought the lawsuit against her ex-husband, accusing him of psychologically abusing James, and asking for decreased overnight stays and supervised visits only. Transgender athlete Rachel McKinnon has said, if society truly believes trans women are women, then there’s no basis for excluding trans athletes from competing in women’s sports. A former transgender male in the UK is setting up a charity to support ‘hundreds’ of young transgender people seeking help in returning to their biological sex. The organisation, The Detransition Advocacy Network, was founded by Charlie Evans, a 28-year-old biological female who lived as a transgender male for almost 10 years before de-transitioning. Cricket Australia on Thursday announced a new policy that would allow transgender athletes to participate in the competition that aligns with their gender identity. The Elite Cricket Policy and Guidelines, which will ensure transgender and gender-diverse cricketers can play the game at the highest level in Australia, will allow biological males who identify as females to compete in women’s only competitions. The Australian Human Rights Commission has just released its Guidelines for the inclusion of transgender and gender diverse people in sport dated June 2019. According to the Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Kate Jenkins: The federal Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth) (the Act) prohibits unlawful discrimination on the basis of sex and gender identity in certain areas of public life. Australian taxpayers will fund a children’s television series about a 12-year-old boy’s first day at school after transitioning to a girl. Screen Australia, the Federal Government body for Australian screen production, announced this week more than $5.7 million in production funding for three features, two online projects, and two children’s television series. A UK High Court Judge has exonerated foster parents who are helping their four-year-old foster son transition to a girl. The ruling comes despite social workers claiming the parents were actively encouraging and prematurely diagnosing the boy with gender dysphoria. A Canadian judge has ruled that parents who fail to recognise and affirm the gender identity of their gender-confused children are guilty of “family violence.” British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Francesca Marzari found the father of a 14-year-old girl guilty after he publicly and privately referred to his daughter as a girl, despite the fact that she now identifies as a boy. The Northern Territory has passed new laws to allow individuals, including children, to legally change their gender without the need for surgery. The changes to the Birth, Deaths and Marriage Act allows people to register their gender as non-binary on their birth certificates, as well as making it easier for transgender people to change their sex without surgery. Tasmania’s lower house has passed new transgender laws which will require parents to “opt-in” to having their child’s sex recorded on birth certificates. The amendments will also make it easier for teens as young as 16 to change their gender by simply filing a statutory declaration.
