A proposed Code of Conduct, which is open for public submissions until August 17, could force doctors to accept ‘cultural beliefs and practises’ that are opposed to good medical practise, according to a group of doctors. The Medical Board of Australia draft code of conduct that will apply to all Australian doctors requires doctors to be “culturally safe” and comply with a patient’s beliefs about gender identity and sexuality, with no provision given for a doctor to differ in their professional judgement. A doctors’ group convened by Dr Lachlan Dunjey of Perth, has expressed concern for the future of medicine…

Lauren Southern: “Like Europe and North America, Australia was founded on the values of the Western world. Free speech, rule of law, democracy, individual liberty. But somewhere along the line something went wrong. You too have caught the bug of progressivism.” “Will Australia fall victim to multiculturalism or will it retain the values that make it the envy of much of the world?” WATCH: The World's Most Censored Tour starts this week. Lauren Southern has had her visa declined just weeks before her first scheduled appearance with Stefan Molyneux in Melbourne. The pair are set to tour major Australian cities and Auckland from July 20 – August 3. David Pellowe, an event organiser, has set up a petition in support of Southern and Molyneux, which can be signed here. “Let’s request the normal welcome to Australia every law abiding visitor with zero criminal record or charges should receive,” Pellowe said. “This tour will contribute to the ongoing conversation about important public issues. Let’s emphatically reject all calls for banning libertarians/conservatives as manifestly…

This article was originally published on Mark Latham’s Outsiders. I worry that Australia is sleep walking its way to disaster. Political correctness, identity politics and cultural Marxism have run through our institutions at an astonishing rate. There’s not enough public awareness of where these changes have come from and what they mean for the future. Media headlines focus on each controversy in isolation. But we need to understand the overall pattern. The Left has launched a cultural invasion of Australia based on the concept of ‘fluidity’. Everything we thought was fixed in our understanding of the world – such as…

An Oregon state appeals court has ruled that Aaron and Melissa Klein, former-owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa, will have to pay a lesbian couple $135,000 in damages after they refused to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding. The incident took place in January 2013, when Rachel Bowman-Cryer went to the Portland bakery with her mother. After learning the cake was for Rachel and her same-sex partner Laurel, Aaron apologised and said they were not able to make same-sex wedding cakes. Rachel and Laurel filed a formal complaint with the state labor bureau, which found the bakery had violated…

Back in 2011, Mark Steyn spoke to the Institute of Public Affairs. Steyn’s speech is now more than five years old, but perhaps more relevant today than ever. “Back in 1215, Magna Carta Libertatum couldn’t have made it plainer, real human rights are restraints that the people place upon the king. We understood that eight centuries ago. Today, we’ve entirely perverted and corrupted the principle. We’re undermining real human rights, like freedom of speech, and replacing them with ersatz rights, that rather than restraining the king, give him vastly increased state power to restrain the rights of his subjects. It’s an abomination…

James Damore, was the senior software engineer at Google. That is, until he was fired for doing, what he now describes as, the unforgivable. Damore’s actions were considered so controversial that the incident remained headline news for days. If by chance, you’re not familiar with Damore’s dismissal, you might be wondering what injustice he had been committed to warrant such a response. In his own words: “My crime: I wrote an internal document, that among other things, suggested that men and women, on average, are different. Like I told you, unforgivable.” Yes, that is exactly as ridiculous as it sounds.…
