Independent New South Wales MP and Equality Campaign co-chair Alex Greenwich has told the Sydney Anglican church to apologise for their behaviour during the same-sex marriage postal survey. Greenwich accused the church of seeking to disrupt and undermine the inclusiveness of Australian society by insisting on the Christian definition of marriage. According to The Guardian, Greenwich wrote to Michael Stead, the bishop of South Sydney, seeking a formal apology from the Anglican church for their “harmful and damaging conduct.” “It’s deeply troubling that instead of seeking to repair the church’s relationship with the LGBTIQ community, who you knowingly harmed during…

A University in Sydney is forcing students to undergo a sexual consent training course in order to view their exam results. The University of Technology Sydney reportedly issued students a notice that said, “Want your results? Complete Consent Matters training in order to see your session results.” “You’ve got to be absolutely kidding me,” one student said. “My university handed this to me after my first exam. They’re going to ransom my test results until I complete this mandatory consent training. All UTS students are in the same boat.” You’ve got to be absolutely kidding me ? My university handed…

A recent opinion piece on news.com.au has argued that women should be outraged at the recent vote to decriminalise abortion by the Queensland Parliament, because of the strong gender divide between the yes and no votes. You see, we should be outraged that most female MPs voted yes and that male MP’s dominated the no vote. The picture presented here is that the vast majority of women are in favour of killing babies and it’s that evil patriarchy who are holding them back – men who don’t deserve to contribute to this debate because they don’t have a uterus. While…

How hateful do you have to be to get expelled from the Party of Diversity? We’ll find out today, depending on whether NSW Opposition Leader Luke Foley removes Shaquette Moselmane as the Labor Party’s Chief Whip in the upper house. Moselmane has form for antisemitic tweeting, as NSW Treasurer pointed out in Question Time yesterday. But his dissemination – at 10pm Wednesday night – of a Jewish conspiracy article is a new low, even for him. It’s more a ramble than an article – the familiar trope about Israelis controlling Australian foreign policy – but what makes it interesting is…

The PC brigade are at it again, this time suggesting the word ‘guys,’ when used in a gender-neutral sense, is sexist toward women and problematic for some in the LGBTQ+ community. Critics are arguing that it positions men as the “default” because “guy” in the singular refers to a male. “Guys is gender neutral!” pic.twitter.com/4JlLa6dv2e — Stephanie (@stefness) December 8, 2017 Lisa Annese, CEO of Diversity Council Australia said, some people feel excluded by the word. “The word ‘guys’ can be used to mean both men and women — but not for everybody.” According to The ABC, the term is…

John M. Perkins is an American civil rights campaigner. His 2017 book, ‘Dream with Me’, is a brave step forward in seeking to create better dialogue between both black and white communities. Overall, ‘Dream With Me’ is a call for both black and white Americans to unite, in their diversity, under God. This review will focus on two primary strengths of Perkins’ work. The first strength is the presence of a Theology of Christian Liberation. Perkins refuses to take the easy path of perpetual anger, condescension and resentment – both traits found in Black liberation theology (which is largely tainted by…

A few weeks back, reacting to the maiden speech by Katter’s Australia Party senator, Fraser Anning, who broadly (and in some areas of his speech, recklessly) called for a review of Australia’s immigration policies, Australian senator, Lucy Gichuhi, (who was born in Kenya) asked the question: “At what point do you become an Australian?” Lucy’s answer was, “…when I get a citizenship paper! Full stop! Period! Finished!” I follow Senator Gichuhi’s political posts. I supported Senator Bob Day, of the Family First party, passing his position over to her after his election win was declared invalid because of a candidacy conflict with the Constitution. I…

A school in the U.K. is teaching children as young as six about LGBTQ relationships in an effort to make them more “accepting” of sexual diversity as adults. A video featured on the BBC shows six year old children participating in an exercise where they’re told to write a love letter from a prince to his male servant. “They’re going to go out into that world and find this diversity around them and they’ll find that at a young age as well,” the teacher explained. “And the more they can be accepting at this age you’re not going to face…

From the start of his candidacy, I’ve considered Donald Trump a diamond in the rough. It’s a working hypothesis that I’ve held onto in the face of an onslaught of fear and dire predictions about his alleged “reign of terror”, a lot of which came from almost everyone I know (theologians and pastors included). Joining the bandwagon condemnation of Trump, in order to spread fear, was always a darkened side-road best left in the rear-view mirror. Minus a few friends and two years on, this hypothesis still stands strong. While I believe that God can transform, and still is in…

The American Academy of Pediatrics is urging parents to be accepting of their children’s gender of choice. In a policy statement  entitled ‘Ensuring Comprehensive Care and Support for Transgender and Gender-Diverse Children and Adolescents,’ the group recommended “gender-affirming” health care for all transgender and gender-diverse minors who do not identify with their birth sex. This includes surgical intervention, gonadotrophine-releasing hormones to delay puberty up to age 16 and prevent the development of some sex characteristics such as breasts. The National Review reports: “The AAP’s statement cites statistics showing transgender individuals are more likely to suffer from depression, anxiety, eating disorders,…

Girl Guides Victoria will now allow boys who identify as girls to join their ranks and share bathrooms with female members. The new policy guidelines state: “An individual is to be considered the final authority of their own gender identity. The only way to know if a person is a transgender person is if the person discloses this to you. “It is not appropriate to judge who is and is not a girl, nor is it appropriate to approach a person to ask if they are transitioning.” According to the policy, if a parent expresses concern or does not want…

It did not name any individuals and it was not a personal attack on anyone.” The email prompted complaints from a number of staff, with one lesbian staff member taking her…

Canada’s Supreme Court has told a Christian law school they should abandon biblical values if they want accreditation. The Supreme Court ruled 7-2 against Trinity Western University’s (TWU) Law School, after LGBT activists argued the Law School’s Christian values discriminate against LGBT students. “In a pair of 7-2 rulings, the majority of justices found the law societies of British Columbia and Ontario have the power to refuse accreditation based on Trinity Western University’s so-called community covenant,” which requires: …that all students and faculty pursue a holy life ‘characterized by humility, self-sacrifice, mercy and justice, and mutual submission for the good…

This article was originally published on Mark Latham’s Outsiders. I worry that Australia is sleep walking its way to disaster. Political correctness, identity politics and cultural Marxism have run through our institutions at an astonishing rate. There’s not enough public awareness of where these changes have come from and what they mean for the future. Media headlines focus on each controversy in isolation. But we need to understand the overall pattern. The Left has launched a cultural invasion of Australia based on the concept of ‘fluidity’. Everything we thought was fixed in our understanding of the world – such as…
