Virgin Atlantic will host a ‘pride flight’ next year, staffed entirely by LGBTQ+ pilots and crew members. In other words, no straight people.
The flight is set to take place in June 2019, and will journey from London Heathrow Airport to New York City, in time for the World Pride festivities which will be held on the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.
During the eight-hour journey, passengers will be entertained with drag queen bingo, a Judy Garland sing-a-long, inter-seat speed dating and an inflight DJ.
We’ve launched the UK’s first #PrideFlight with @VirginHolidays. Complete with fabulous onboard performances from @TitussBurgess, an onboard DJ and Drag Queen Bingo – you really don’t want to miss this flight! ?✈️❤️

Virgin teamed up with Netflix’s Tituss Burgess for the event who said, “At a time when we’re seeing the rights of minority groups under threat, it is more important than ever we stand up and make our voices heard.”
“The LGBT+ community has made enormous strides over the last 50 years, and I’m so proud to partner with Virgin Holidays and Virgin Atlantic to mark this occasion in style and celebrate the hard-won freedoms from those who came before us.”
A Portion of ticket sales will be donated to The Attitude Magazine Foundation, which promotes LGBTQ+ community initiatives in the UK.
