Four Muslim men have abducted a Norwegian street preacher before demanding at knifepoint that he renounce Christianity and convert to Islam.

According to reports, Roar Fløttum was preaching on Trondheim Street back in November when the group approached him and asked if he would pray for their friend.

“[The men] wanted to take me to a friend who they said had injured his foot and was now waiting to be picked up and taken to the emergency room,” Fløttum told a local news outlet.

“I trusted them and joined them. They took me to a backyard. They were very nice and I couldn’t believe they would deceive me.”

Fløttum was then taken into a backyard and pushed down a cellar staircase. The four men began punching and kicking him in the face.

“They demanded my bank card, codes, mobile and Apple ID. They held me hostage there for an hour as they made withdrawals from the card. They made about ten thousand kroner.

“While they kept me there, they threatened me and said they would kill me if I did not convert to Islam. They wanted me to say a few words in Arabic. I was scared and actually thought they were going to kill me because they said they had a knife and didn’t want witnesses,” he said.

The men eventually released Fløttum after threating to kill him if he went to the police. Fløttum, however, went straight to the authorities and reported the incident.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the attack, however, they’re hoping to identify the suspects through footage obtained from surveillance cameras in the area.
