West Yorkshire Police have celebrated winning the ‘Diversity Champion of the Year’ award at the 2019 British Muslim Awards.

“This is the same police force that failed a multitude of vulnerable girls who were repeatedly beaten, drugged and raped by grooming gangs,” Rita Panahi said on Sky News.
“The grooming gang scandal is one of the most shameful episodes in modern British history. It was real rape culture in the West, with gangs of predatory men preying upon vulnerable victims while authorities looked the other way. Too terrified to act in case they were deemed ‘racist’ because the offenders were from immigrant communities, mainly British-Pakistani Muslims.”
