Week 4: By the end of week four the child is ten thousand times larger than the fertilized egg. On the fruit scale, the baby is now the size of a poppy seed.

Week 5: Eyes, legs, and hands begin to develop. The baby is now the size of an apple seed.

Week 6: Brain waves are detectable; mouth and lips are present; fingernails are forming. The baby is now the same size as a sweet pea.

Week 7: Eyelids, and toes form, nose distinct. The baby is kicking and swimming. The baby is the size of a blueberry.
