The ABC continues to paint the LGBTQ Mardi Gras as a family-friendly event. This year they recycled a program on the kid’s channel called Mardi Gras + Me. The show, featuring Playschool host Zindzi Okenyo, follows a group of children as they prepare to march in the Sydney parade.
Activist Julie McCrossin makes an appearance, to tell the children what Mardi Gras is all about. According to McCrossin, “Mardi Gras is welcoming, naughty, and multicultural in every sense of the word.”
Benjamin Law, who said he sometimes finds himself wondering if he would hate-f–k all the MPs in parliament who opposed same-sex marriage, describes the events as “a party, but it’s also a protest and it’s an act of resistance.”
So, here’s just a small glimpse at what the taxpayer-funded ABC is trying to expose your children to:

So sassy! This is probably my favourite photograph that I took at last night’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade. It features the fabulous Felicia Foxx. Fearless x #sydneymardigras #sydneymardigras19 #fearless #feliciafoxx @sydneymardigras #sydney pic.twitter.com/kdy5n2lyZb
