Judge says Christianity is ‘incompatible with human dignity’, sacked doctor responds: ‘We’ve lost free speech, now we’re being compelled to lie’

A UK doctor who was told by a judge that his Christian beliefs were “incompatible with human dignity” has responded to the ruling, calling it “beyond reason, logic, and science.”

Dr David Mackereth lost his Employment Tribunal case last week after he was fired by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for refusing to identify his patients by anything other than their biological gender.

The DWP’s case against the 56-year-old father of four claimed the doctor’s belief in Genesis 1:27 was not a belief protected by the Equality Act 2010 but was rather a ‘mere opinion.’

“In essence, I’m now being compelled to say things which I cannot say,” Dr Mackereth told Christian Concern.

“It’s not just that we’ve lost our freedom of speech – that’s bad enough – but now we are absolutely compelled – because of this need to have a belief in transgenderism, because of this lack of belief in the Bible’s reference to human dignity – we are compelled now to use language in a way which has been prescribed for us by other parties with whom we disagree.”

Dr Mackereth went on to say, such compelled speech pushes his conscience where, as a Christian, it cannot go.

“At the same time, it’s beyond reason to me, and beyond logic, and beyond science to do such a thing. And that’s not good medicine,” he said.

In 2017, Rev Dr Gavin Ashenden, former Chaplain to the Queen, warned what’s really behind the transgender push is the desire to abolish objective reality, objective standards and objective morality.

“What it’s basically saying is, the real truth about the world is whatever you think it is in your head,” he said.

Dr Ashenden links this to the idea of utopianism – the notion that we can build the society we want, just by wanting it. However, to get to that point, it’s necessary to first persuade the people that they can make the world fit the vision inside their heads.

“It’s a prerequisite,” Dr Ashenden said. “And the whole trans community is being used in order to get the rest of the world to accept this.”

The point at which it begins is when the state begins policing thought, a point we’ve now clearly reached.

“The totalitarian Marxist state says, if you show any signs of not believing it and not doing what we tell you, then we’ll declare you mentally ill.” Or in Dr Mackereth’s case, fired from a job for believing Christian ideas now deemed “incompatible with human dignity.”

What’s frightening is that Dr Ashenden went on to warn that there’s potential it will all ultimately “end in blood.”

“Because freedom of speech and freedom of thought and objective reality and finding out what’s real in the world is under threat — and down this conveyor belt are some very nasty people who are going to force us to believe what they want us to believe and who will either throw us into prison or kill us when we don’t,” Dr Ashenden said.

“Just like they did in China, and South America, and in Russia, the Western world, with its gift of freedom, is just walking blindly into it because they want to be nice to groups who appear to have been disadvantaged,” he added.
