U.S. President Donald Trump has said it’s okay to wear a face mask to help prevent the spread of coronavirus, suggesting it can even be patriotic to do so.
The President made the remarks in a tweet on Monday, which now may force the mainstream media to rethink their position on the effectiveness of masks, lest they find themselves in agreement with Trump.
“We are United in our effort to defeat the Invisible China Virus, and many people say that it is Patriotic to wear a face mask when you can’t socially distance,” the President said. “There is nobody more Patriotic than me, your favorite President!”
Attached to the tweet was a black and white photo of President Trump wearing a black face mask bearing the presidential seal.
