Children under the age of 16 should be allowed to undergo irreversible transgender surgery without parental permission or mandatory counselling, according to The Australian Psychological Association.
A report in The Australian this morning revealed, an unpublished law reform submission from the peak body, which represents 24,000 psychologists, says parental opposition should not prevent a child under 16 from consenting to irreversible surgery, provided the doctors are “competent” in assessing the child’s capacity to make decisions.
Parents opposed to their children receiving irreversible surgery pose a “significant barrier”, according to the body, which went on to suggest giving hospitals the right to petition courts, as well as ‘advocacy’ to win over parents.
The APA suggests legal advice should be accessible so that youngsters can authorise their treatment. Mandatory counselling was also dismissed by the body as often an “unnecessary burden” for children.
Parents, beware. There are folks out there who want to influence your children, push transgender ideology and gender confusion onto them, and then strip them from you when you don’t affirm the ideologies they’ve cultivated in your child’s mind.
More than ever we need to be well aware of who and what is influencing our kids. Assume no place is safe from those who seek to indoctrinate the next generation.
