CNN anchorwoman Erin Burnett has suggested the Iranians chanting “Death to America” are only using the phrase figuratively, and “couldn’t have been more friendly” to her during her time at an anti-American rally in Iran’s capital. In a recent segment on CNN, Ms Burnett explains: “Well, I will say, I was in Tehran when they were chanting “Death to America” once. I was at a rally. The people couldn’t have been more friendly to me personally as an American. Ms Burnett continued, “It sort of felt like a thing and a trope, as opposed to anything that was actually seriously…

Islamic militants have carried out yet another attack on a predominantly Christian village in Nigeria, killing up to 13 Christians and leaving another three wounded. The assault was carried out on Wednesday evening by about 20 armed Muslim Fulani herdsmen. “They were shooting with guns in all directions, forcing the villagers to scamper into surrounding bushes,” an eyewitness told Morning Star News in a text message. “Corpses of those killed have been evacuated by soldiers and police to mortuary of Mangu Cottage Hospital; and all victims are members of [Church of Christ in Nations] COCIN,” he added. Victorian Police have pleaded with organisers and civilians to reconsider attending a planned climate protest on Friday, January 10 as emergency services will be stretched on the day predicted to see dangerous fire conditions flare. The event, organised by Uni Students for Climate Justice, has been planned with the intent of calling on more funding for fire and emergency services, to call on an immediate transition away from fossil fuels, and to demand the sacking of Prime Minister Scott Morrison. In a post on Facebook, the organisers said: “We demand the government: Pay all firefighters and give them force full…

If you’re a subscriber on Netflix, you may have recently come across the film The First Temptation of Christ. It is a Netflix Original (it premiered on Netflix) and was produced by a Brazilian comedy troupe, Porta dos Fundos. The film is centred around Jesus Christ’s 30th birthday and portrays Him as a homosexual. It mocks God the Father as if He were a seductive player, and ridicules Jesus’ family and disciples in the most unbelievably sacrilegious ways. Since its release, nearly 2.5 million people have signed a petition to remove the movie from Netflix, and its disapproval can be…

At the end of Isaiah, the prophet talks about the relationship between new life and the heat of judgement. Given the devastation we’re seeing from the immense fires since September in Australia, these verses have special relevance. This doesn’t justify arson, or the political opportunism seeking to advance, distract, manipulate and use the suffering of others to feed self-interest. The relationship between new life and the heat of judgement speaks to all of us. It’s here, and not with pyromania, or political opportunism that the Word found in the prophetic meets with the pyrophytic. Horticulturalists tell us that some Australian…

Australia’s current bushfires have nothing to do with climate change and everything to do with fuel-loads, according to scientist and bushfire expert, David Packham AO. Five years ago, Mr Packham, a former bushfire researcher at CSIRO, warned that unless there is a drastic increase in annual fuel reduction burnings “a massive bushfire disaster will occur”. According to Mr Packham’s predictions, “The forest and alpine environment will decay and be damaged possibly beyond repair and home and people [will be] incinerated.” Fuel levels are at their highest since European settlement and that’s something Mr Packham attributed to “misguided green ideology”, vested…

Video released on Wednesday shows 13 hostages in total, 10 are believed to be Christian and three, Muslim. It was reported that one of the hostages was shot in the head while the rest were beheaded. Wherever you look, socialism is sexy again. In the UK this week, Jeremy Corbyn is seeking election as the nation’s Prime Minister on a proudly socialist platform. In the USA, socialist Bernie Sanders is making a second run for President, and he has the endorsement of “the Squad”—a group of socialist Congresswomen which includes the famous firebrand freshman AOC. You may not have noticed yet, but the climate strikes taking place the world over also have strong socialist undercurrents. If the word socialism is new to you, it’s basically the idea that society’s wealth should be redistributed and shared by everyone. (Be sure to do your…

Inciting people to rage against their neighbour in the name of the environment, or because of concerns about the climate, has been a constant part of human society’s obsession with who’s to blame for acts of God, or natural disasters. In the pagan tribal cultures of the Americas, a bad crop meant another child sacrifice. Described by Cortez as ‘the most horrid and abominable custom; where many girls and boys and even adults, and in the presence of these idols they open their chests while they are still alive and take out their hearts and entrails and burn them before…

The Trudeau era and its burgeoning “progressive” totalitarianism got an extension this week as Canadians voted. Consequently, Canadian Liberals were reinstated, winning 157 seats, against the Conservatives who secured 121. Conservatives scored a narrow loss, winning the popular vote at 34.4%, but not securing enough seats to win a majority. [i] In an opinion piece for Crisis Magazine, Canadian Professor Emeritus at St. Jerome’s University, Donald, DeMarco, presented a grim analysis of Canada’s Trudeaun landscape. DeMarco expressed concern about apathy, and a general lack of awareness at the slow erosion of hard-won, tried and true, classical liberal freedoms, stating that…

Judges in the UK have been instructed to issue harsher punishments for those found guilty of transgender or homophobic “hate crimes.” The new sentencing guidelines, issued by the Sentencing Council for England and Wales on Wednesday, says offenders found guilty of stirring up hatred should be sentenced to at least six months in prison, the Daily Mail reported this week. In a press release issued by the statutory body, Mr Justice Julian Goose, of the Council, said the guidelines were designed to ensure the courts have the structure needed to take a “consistent approach when sentencing public order offences.” “Public…

Avi Yemini was banned from Twitter after a tweet addressed to climate change activist Greta Thunberg was flagged as being in breach of Twitter’s EULA. Yemini’s criticism wasn’t without merit. He was responding to Greta’s widely publicised, scripted speech, performed before the UN summit on Climate Change. Her performance appeared manufactured and forced. Emotionally distraught, Greta appeared to be intimidated and scared. She repeated the words ‘’How dare you” as part of her claim that the UN (aka the world) had “stolen her dreams and childhood with empty words”, and that “people are suffering, people are dying” and that “entire…

Jane Caro is one of those feminists who seem to have been dared to say something increasingly stupid or evil every day, and still isn’t finding that hard. I’m personally grateful for the many authentic revelations she offers into the toxic cult which is feminism. Today is a day ending in /y/, and yet again we can observe the perverse post-truth abomination which feminism has become over the last few generations. Untold trillions of potential humans have never been born. They neither noticed nor cared, nor did we. — Jane Caro (@JaneCaro) September 16, 2019 Feminists might not care, but…

Sometimes you’ll hear a federal politician claim abortion is just a state issue. Yet in the lead up to this year’s federal election, the federal Labor Party announced a national abortion policy that sought to make abortion easier and completely tax-payer subsidised. They threatened state health funding if abortion wasn’t available in all public hospitals, promised to build an abortion facility in Tasmania, and “encouraged” NSW to liberalise abortion laws. Although Coalition politicians refused to be drawn on the controversial issue, the Australian Christian Lobby and Cherish Life campaigned against Labor’s policy. Labor lost the election, and Labor MP Ed Husic…

Covington student, Nicholas Sandermann’s $250 million defamation case against The Washington Post was dismissed late last month, after a federal judge ruled that the Washington Post hadn’t slandered Sandermann in its reporting of the infamous, so-called “standoff” between himself and Native American, Nathan Phillips on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Saurabh Sharma of the Dailycaller said the “judge threw out the case” saying that The Washington Post didn’t defame the Covington students, but were irresponsible with their use of “loose, figurative,” and “rhetorical hyperbole”. [i] This is despite The Washington Post, along with some Twitter users and others within…

It’s my fault killing babies is legal in Australia. I am responsible for the fact abortion on demand has been legally available for so long in Australia, and I’m sorry. The first Australian liberal abortion legislation was passed in the South Australian Parliament in 1969. Attorney General Robin Millhouse was the architect of the radical abortion laws. Forty-five years later he admitted great regret for laws which were [predictably destined to be] interpreted too widely resulting in abortion on demand. That legislation received the assent of the Governor and came into effect on January 8, 1970. However, the first legalisation…
