The historian, Philip  Schaff, is often cited regarding the resurrection of Christ: ‘Truly, Jesus Christ, the Christ of the Gospels, the Christ of history, the crucified and risen Christ, the divine-human Christ, is the most real, the most certain, the most blessed of all facts. And this fact is an ever-present and growing power which pervades the church and conquers the world, and is its own best evidence, as the sun shining in the heavens. This fact is the only solution to the terrible mystery of sin and death, the only inspiration to a holy life of love to God…

Saturday’s election saw Australians choose freedom and individual responsibility, over surrendering their country to globalist bureaucrats and their inherent totalitarianism. Against all mainstream media predictions which had handed the Labor/Green opposition the 2019 election, the discerning voter – Morrison’s “quiet Australians” – made their voice heard. In many ways, the outcome of the election illustrates that Leftists within the leftwing media are not reporting properly or honestly. They have a narrative and expect people to fall in line with it. This is the way we want you to vote, so “vote as we tell you to vote, or else.” Caldron…

Students at a New South Wales public high school have been encouraged to wear LGBTQ themed clothing to show support for the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.  Greystanes High School, who is today hosting the “Rainbow Mufti Day”, told students that participants will be expected to hand over a $1 donation. However, any student in mufti who fails to wear an item of rainbow clothing will be required to pay twice as much as those donning LGBTQ colours. A post on the school’s official Facebook page, which has since been edited, originally stated: “The SRC will be collecting a…

Bill Shorten’s poorly aimed verbal sucker punch at Scott Morrison draws from the assumption that those who voted “yes” in the LNP’s gay marriage popularity survey are a bankable vote for Labor. This political maneuver was a bad call. It betrays a deep overconfidence in the Labor political machine and underestimates the intellectual capacity of the discerning public. Shorten’s goal was clear. Capitalize on the fearmongering and misrepresentations, which he and Pro-SSM advocates were so keen to employ, instead of engaging in rational, respectful debate. As a servant of that public, he seems to forget that Labor had originally refused…

In The Closing of the American Mind, published in 1987, Allan Bloom lamented that virtually all American college students believe that there is no absolute truth for all truth is relative. He goes on to comment that the only virtue left now is tolerance and that relativism has extinguished the real motive of education. With the declared goal of opening up the human mind, relativism has actually succeeded in constricting it. Perhaps we ought to begin with the simple and helpful distinction made by John North and Rob Forsyth. They distinguish between what they call ‘Beetroot truth’ (which you either like…

A former rugby league player has suggested that Christians, like Israel Folau, who express a biblical view of sexuality “can and do” push kids to commit suicide. Ian Roberts, an openly gay former rugby league player, appeared as a guest panelist on Channel Nine’s Sports Sunday, where he condemned Folau for posting a paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 6:9 on his personal Instagram account. “I do feel sorry for Israel, but there are consequences for your actions and reactions, you know,” Roberts said. “And I don’t say this lightly, what I’m about to say, the language I use is hard and it’s for…

Captain Marvel star Brie Larson originally made headlines when she was announced as Marvel’s first female superhero to feature in her own solo film. Captain Marvel grossed over $1-billion in earnings, making it the seventh Marvel feature to reach over a billion dollars at the box office. With the spotlight fixed on Larson, the 29-year-old actress took the opportunity to draw attention to the apparent oppression of women in the film industry, suggesting females aren’t granted the same opportunities as men. According to Larson, not only were the overwhelming majority of critics reviewing movies male, but they were also mostly…

Footage uploaded to social media last month reportedly shows a group of children from a Pennsylvania Islamic Centre singing and citing poetry praising the “martyrs” who sacrificed their lives for Palestine. According to The Middle East Media Research Institute, the video, depicting the centre’s “Ummah Day” celebrations, was originally shared on Facebook by the Muslim American Society in Philadelphia. “Glorious steeds call us and lead us [to] Al-Aqsa Mosque,” the translation reads. “The blood of martyrs protects us… Take us, oh ships… until we reach our shores and crush the treacherous ones… Flow, oh rivers of martyrs!” “We will defend…

City officials are going after a women’s shelter in Anchorage after the Christian non-profit refuge twice denied admission to a transgender woman. In January last year, transgender woman, Samantha Coyle reportedly filed a complaint with the Anchorage Equal Rights Commission, alleging Downtown Hope Center discriminated against him based on his gender. “The gentleman came in. It was after hours for admitting anyone,” lawyer David Cortman of the Alliance Defending Freedom told KTUU. “He was inebriated. He was injured. He had just come from a fight where he was kicked out of another shelter.” The women’s shelter sent Coyle to a…

The senate ballot paper can be daunting. This year, in SA, there are forty-two candidates, most of whose names you have never heard of before. Six of them will end up sitting in the Senate, deciding Australian Legislation for the next six years. That’s an important job, so we should look closely and think about who we will vote for. This article is, hopefully, a good starting point to work out how you will vote if you happen to be a South Australian. I’m going to introduce all the parties/candidates and the basic propositions that they represent. I’ve grouped them…

A Canadian judge has ruled that parents who fail to recognise and affirm the gender identity of their gender-confused children are guilty of “family violence.” British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Francesca Marzari found the father of a 14-year-old girl guilty after he publicly and privately referred to his daughter as a girl, despite the fact that she now identifies as a boy. According to Marzari’s ruling the father’s “expressions of rejection of [his daughter’s] gender identity, both publicly and privately, constitutes family violence [against the child].” The ruling also prohibits the father from addressing his daughter by her birth name and…

A council in Victoria have voted to remove the Australian flag from their iconic town clock tower and replace it with a gay pride rainbow flag. The family of one of the men responsible for the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka have claimed he was radicalised during his time in Australia. Samsul Hidaya, sister of Abdul Latheif Jameel Mohamed, one of nine suicide bombers responsible for the attacks which killed hundreds of Christians, told the Daily Mail, her brother changed after his five years of study in Australia. “He had a long beard and had lost his sense of humour. He became serious and withdrawn and would not even smile at anyone he didn’t know, let alone laugh,” she said. Hidaya went on to…

There are good reasons for rejecting the diagnosis that the problem with religion is that it discriminates, and the proposed cure that it not be allowed to discriminate any longer. 1. The whole approach is putting Australian law on a radically different basis. Christianity teaches its followers to think in terms of right and wrong, but the Australian Human Rights Commission, naturally, thinks in terms of rights. In Christianity, it is a sin to bow down to idols, to murder, to commit adultery, to steal, to be covetous or proud, and so on. The basic law is summarised in the…

My name is Aidan Green. I am a journalist and a proud alumnus of the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of International Studies. Upon arrival to my degree, I was like everybody else, young, naive and left-wing. It is true what they say about the humanities faculties being taken over by the left. Throughout my three-year degree, I met only one politics lecturer who didn’t make it clear that they were left of centre. It was not until my second year where I began to think more critically and objectively, and it was not until my second year when…

The LGBT community’s grievances and the reason for their sensitivity regarding the Israel Folau controversy are understandable. A non-biblical version of sin has been misused over the years to beat people down, not bring them to faith and repentance. (See Psychiatrist, Karl Menninger’s ‘Whatever Became of Sin?’, 1976) That historical misuse, however, doesn’t justify the unjust writhing and screaming being thrown towards Folau. None of this justifies dehumanizing a man and taking away his bread and butter. None of this justifies any corporation such as Qantas, bullying, via economic sanctions, companies they do business with, such as Rugby Australia. As…

What do you get when you mix the post-modernism of an SJW with the teachings of Christianity? If you want to find out, then Richard Holloway’s recent book review How to read the Bible (Spectator, 30th March) is a good place to start. There are at least five things you will find there. The first is relativism. Early in the article Holloway outlines one of the Christian controversies about the Bible: the meaning of the very first Chapter, which is about creation. Three parties are described. Firstly, scholars who caution against believing that any of the episodes in the Bible…
