Labor’s National Secretary has released a consultation draft in the lead up to the party’s 2018 National Conference in December. The draft claims to “distill the policies and enduring values that Labor aspires to implement in government.” But the Australian Christian Lobby has pointed out, “hidden on page 183, we can see the party is seeking to launch and extraordinary attack on people of faith and parent’s rights.” The document states: Labor opposes the practice of so-called conversion and reparative therapies on LGBTIQ+ people and seek to criminalise these practices. “This is shocking stuff,” the ACL said. “It means that…

A proposed Code of Conduct, which is open for public submissions until August 17, could force doctors to accept ‘cultural beliefs and practises’ that are opposed to good medical practise, according to a group of doctors. A doctors’ group convened by Dr Lachlan Dunjey of Perth, has expressed concern for the future of medicine…

Queensland’s Labor state government is set to decriminalise abortion, in an effort to “bring Queensland into the 21st century,” according to Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk. Currently abortion is only legal in Queensland if the mother’s mental or physical health is in serious risk. The new laws will allow women to abort their babies up to 22 weeks, no questions asked. Doctors may refuse to perform abortions, but they must refer the patient to another practitioner. Also to be introduced is a 150-metre safe access zone around abortion clinics that could see pro-life protesters and sidewalk counsellors facing up to one year…

Michael Kroger has blasted Bill Shorten after the Labor leader suggested too many indigenous children are being taken away from their families. “The last thing they need is some know-it-all whitefellas to come in paternalistic, as has been happening for 200 years, and saying, ‘listen you’re just children and we’ll just fix it all for you,’” Shorten said. Kroger told Sky News, “This was a disgraceful performance by Shorten, and I might say, the low point of his leadership. The absolute low point of his leadership. This guy is a prisoner to political correctness and he is a danger to…

Abortion activists are at it again, attempting to introduce bubble-zones around New South Wales abortion facilities. As stated many times on this website, these so-called ‘safe-access zones’, also known as exclusion zones, are designed to stop advocates for life from offering assistance to desperate women who feel pressured to abort their children. They also hamper the freedom of political communication which should exist in a free society like Australia. They also hamper the freedom of political communication which should exist in a free society like Australia. Exclusion-zone law, very similar to that being proposed in New South Wales will be…

You hear a lot in America about the “war on women,” but it’s men in America who are failing. We have some shocking statistics: The signs are everywhere. If you’re a middle aged man, you probably know a peer who has killed himself in recent years. At least one. If you’re a parent, you may have noticed that your daughter’s friends seem a little more on the ball than your son’s. They get better grades. They smoke less weed. They go to more prestigious colleges. If you’re an employer, you may have noticed that your female employees show up on…

Socialism is bad because socialism is tyranny… The statement of socialism is that your labor is owned to the society. The notion of socialism is that you do not own your own freedom, you do not own your own time, you do not own your own labor, you do not own your own work, you do not own the products of your own work. The basic notion of capitalism is that you…

Bernie Sanders has single-handedly brought the term “democratic socialism” into the contemporary American political lexicon and shaken millions of Millennials out of their apathy towards politics. Peta Credlin brutally destroys former Prime Minister of Australia and Labor politician, Kevin Rudd. Excerpt and video below: You’d be hard pressed to find anyone, Liberal voter or not, who’d think your defeat of John Howard was anything other than a backward step for Australia. You inherited 50 billion in the bank. No net debt. And surplus budgets as far as the eye could see. When you were turfed out of office in 2013 debt had ballooned to almost 300 billion. And that surplus you promised, year after year after year never turned up. An economic conservative? Give me a…

The results of the same-sex plebiscite were announced on 15 November 2017, and a few weeks later Australia became the 26th nation in the world to legislate for same-sex marriage. The Prime Minister was beside himself, as he punched the air, like an Aussie batsman who had just scored a century against the old foe, England. ‘Australia has done it,’ he proclaimed, ‘What a day for love, for equality, for respect.’ Step aside Neville Chamberlain who was overjoyed at guaranteeing peace in our time in 1938. Here is Malcolm Turnbull in 2017: ‘This belongs to us all. This is Australia…

According to new data obtained from the Treasury through Senate Estimates, the average taxpayer pays $11,427 in income tax, and almost half of that is given to welfare. Senator Eric Abetz said: With more than half the budget being spent on health and welfare, it is clear that our current fiscal situation is unsustainable and we need to see if we can deliver the same outcomes while spending less money. Further, the fact that each taxpayer is paying $474 towards interest on our national debt once again highlights how important it is to reduce the debt burden on future generations.…

When Herschelle Gibbs dropped Steve Waugh in the 1999 Cricket World Cup one of the most misquoted quotes was born. It’s commonly understood that Waugh said, ‘How does it feel to have just dropped the World Cup?’ But, according to the man himself, the truth is it was more like, ‘That’s going to cost your team today, Hersch’. Regardless of what particular version you go with, surely, this time, Dasher has done his dash – at least with the Australian voting public. As David Flint has recently argued in his excellent article, “He would be disqualified under section 44 of…

How do we understand the story of creation told in Genesis 1:1-2:3? Interpreters have basically fallen into one of two camps. Either the six days of creation represent six literal 24 hour days, or each “day” refers only to an age, an epoch, an unspecified period of time. So, which interpretation should we prefer? When it comes to interpreting the Bible, the best place to look is the Bible. And likewise, when it comes to understanding a particular author, the best place to look is that same author. So, what did Moses mean by the mention of “day” in Genesis…
