Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed plans to introduce the first-ever Muslim superhero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kamala Khan, also known as Ms Marvel, is a teenage Pakistani-American from New Jersey who made her first comic-book appearance in 2013.

“Captain Marvel is shooting right now,” Feige told the BBC. “Ms Marvel, which is another character in the comic books – the Muslim hero who’s inspired by Captain Marvel.”

“It’s definitely, sort of, in the works,” he continued. “We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”

Fingers-crossed this new crimefighter isn’t wrangling Sharia-lawbreakers.
