Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar on Tuesday called for the “dismantling” of the United States “economy and political systems.”
Omar made the comments during a speech delivered in her home state of Minnesota to leaders of the Minnesota People of Color and Indigenous Caucus.
In a tweet posted prior to the event, Omar said the speech was a call to address “racism in policing and reform our criminal justice system” following the death of George Floyd.
“As long as our economy and political systems prioritize profit without considering who is profiting, who is being shut out, we will perpetuate this inequality.
“We cannot stop at the criminal justice system. We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it,” she said.
In November, Omar endorsed former Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, saying she is “beyond excited” for a President who will “fight against Western Imperialism.”
In other words, Omar wants to shrink the United States’ influence around the world. Bernie failed, so dismantling the economy and political system in the name of social justice is just another attempt at reducing America.
Never mind the fact that the United States, and every Western country, has to physically prevent people from the Middle East and Africa from pouring into their nations in the millions, and for what?
To be oppressed by the system? To be subject to systemic racism? To be held back and disadvantaged by institutions that preference whites? To escape the evils of “Western imperialism”? To be killed by racist police officers? Or could it perhaps be that they want to taste the real freedom, fairness, and prosperity that was secured by our forefathers?
As Mark Steyn rightly said: “Western culture – rule of law, universal suffrage, etc. is to be preferable to Arab culture. That’s why there are millions of Muslims in Scandinavia, and four Scandinavians in Syria. Follow the traffic.”
