UK newspaper says: ‘Muhammed had British value’ so we must ‘teach more Islam in schools’

Being a British Muslim is the most natural thing in the world because Mohammed had British values, according to the popular British newspaper, The Independent. In a non-satirical piece titled, The Prophet Mohammed had British values – so the only way to combat extremism is to teach more Islam in schools, Sajda Khan argues that if we want to stop people from joining Islamic terrorist groups like Isis, British children must be taught Islamic theology. “This is a golden opportunity to develop within our schools a curriculum based upon the biography of Prophet Muhammad, which clearly demonstrates and embed what……

“This is a golden opportunity to develop within our schools a curriculum based upon the biography of Prophet Muhammad, which clearly demonstrates and embed what are now also considered British values,” Khan said.

The paper went on to claim that inherent to Islam were the British values of social responsibility, respect for the rule of law (Sharia Law?), individual liberty (unless you’re a woman?), mutual respect (provided you’re a Muslim?), and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs (once you pay the Jizya?).

We hear something similar after every violent act of Islamic terrorism when we’re reassured that the vast majority of “moderate Muslims” do not subscribe to “extremist” views. We’re told most Muslims are just as peace-loving and law-abiding as everyone else. However, according to the Pew Research Center, the vast majority of Muslims around the world hold beliefs the West would deem “extreme.”

For instance, 88% of Muslims in Egypt; 62% in Pakistan; 86% in Jordan; and 51% of Muslims in Nigeria believe that those who leave the Islamic religion should be executed for apostasy.

Similar numbers are in favour of stoning adulterers, enforcing severe blasphemy laws, and cutting off the hands of thieves.

All of these practices are part of Sharia, the Islamic penal code. More than 80% of Muslims in South Asia; 77% in Southeast Asia; 74% in the Middle East and North Africa; and 64% in Sub-Saharan Africa want Sharia to be the law of the land.

Take the following demonstration as an example: Responding to public backlash after inviting an “extreme” and “radical” Muslim teacher to speak at the British mosque, the host of the event took the opportunity to demonstrate that the views the British public consider “extreme” and “radical” are actually held by every-day, “moderate” British Muslims.

“I always try to tell them it’s not the speaker that we’re inviting that has these extreme, radical views as you say,” the host said. “These are general views that every Muslim actually has. Every Muslim believes in these things. Just because they’re not telling you about it doesn’t mean they don’t believe in them.”

To demonstrate this point, the host asked the audience to raise their hands if they considered themselves “normal” Muslims, not extremists or radical. All hands were raised.

The host then asked how many “normal Muslims” believe men and women should sit separately. All hands were raised.

He then asked the audience of “non-radical Muslims” how many believe the best punishment for sin and crime, which should be applied throughout the world, is prescribed in the Quran, “whether it be death, whether it is stoning for adultery, whatever it is.” Again, all hands were raised.

“Are you all radical extremists?” he mockingly asked. “So, all of you are saying that you are common Muslims… So, what are the politicians going to say now? What’s the media going to say now? That we’re all extremists? We’re all radical? They need to deport all of us from this country?”

Last year a newspaper in Saudi Arabia claimed the face of Britain is becoming increasingly Islamic, more Islamic than many Muslim countries combined.

According to the Saudi Gazette, “Muslim London” has seen an additional 423 new mosques and “most of these mosques are crowded at prayer times, unlike many churches which rarely see visitors.”

About 100 “official Sharia courts” are also said to be operating in the capital, “thanks to the British Arbitration Act and the system of Alternative Dispute Resolution” as well as British universities that are advancing Islamic law studies among young people.

The report went on to point out that since 2001, approximately 500 churches in London have been closed down and the number of Christians in Britain are “declining at a rate that within a generation, their number will be three times lower than that of Muslims.”

This is where the “multicultural” delusion ultimately ends. The goal of “multiculturalism” is “diversity in harmony,” however, that end will never be achieved unless all parties share that same goal. They don’t, and they never will. And that’s a fact that many Western countries are realising too late.

As Thomas Sowell rightly said, “Europe is belatedly discovering how unbelievably stupid it was to import millions of people from cultures that despise Western values and which often promote hatred towards the people who have let them in.”

The truth is, Islam is fundamentally incompatible with the idea of multiculturalism, because, unlike the cultural-relativists in the West, Muslims believe Islamic culture and practice is objectively superior to all others.

Jesus warned that a kingdom divided cannot stand (Matt. 12:25), so how will this end for the UK? Will the “multicultural” delusion become the instrument for the West’s self-inflicted downfall?
