If you weren’t yet convinced that the world has gone completely and utterly mad, five men have been acquitted of gang-raping a 14-year-old girl because their unconscious victim did not resist the assault. A Barcelona court cleared the attackers on Thursday, saying the men did not use violence or intimidation and therefore the attack did not fit the legal definition of rape. Facebook has pinned a “hoax alert” on articles from Caldron Pool and Daily Wire which mention a priest from the Church of Sweden proclaiming Greta Thunberg the “successor” of Jesus Christ. The “fake news” alert appears beneath the articles when shared on Facebook and claim the stories are “misleading” their readers. Although the alert appears on Caldron Pool’s article, Maarten Schenk, Facebook’s “fake news” expert, only mentions The Daily Wire. An Australian-British couple, have been arrested in Iran for allegedly flying a drone near Tehran, without the required license. Jolie King and Mark Firkin have been imprisoned for 10 days without trial, with no sign there’ll even be a trial. The couple were vlogging their attempt to drive from Australia to Britain. A Bible translator was among seven people butchered to death in Cameroon by suspected Muslim herders during an attack carried out in the early hours of Sunday morning. Efi Tembon, of Oasis Network for Community Transformation, told The Christian Post, Angus Abraham Fung was cut to death with a machete, while his wife, Eveline, had her arm hacked off. Islamic militants have reportedly kidnapped more than 200 women and children from a majority-Christian town in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Islamic rebel group, Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), carried out a three-hour-long raid in the town of Boga in the Ituri Province on August 23 after overrunning local government forces. A Muslim surgeon has been accused of performing sterilisation surgeries on non-Muslim women without their knowledge or consent. More than 50 women have made complaints against Dr Siyabdeen Mohammed Safi, 42, who worked at Kurunegala Hospital in Sri Lanka. Some of the women have accused the doctor of sterilising them during a standard Caesarean procedure.
