Where God’s revelation meets the West and all the rest
Karl Barth and Roger Scruton make unlikely conversation partners. Barth, was a Reformed Swiss theologian, who held up the distinction between theology and philosophy, and Scruton, is a British philosopher, talks theology, but knows his limits on the subject. The meeting between the two takes place in Barth’s On Religion and Scruton’s, The West and All the Rest. Together they provide a telescopic view of modern religio-politics and the socio-political landscape of contemporary Western society. One big theme for Scruton is the relationship between the ‘social contract’ and Creed communities[note]This term is attributed to Oswald Spengler, The Decline of The West.[/note]…
Death by lynch mob: Brett Kavanaugh, Asia Bibi and the shared rage of the mobs out to get them.
There’s an eerie similarity between the protests against Asia Bibi and the protests against Brett Kavanaugh. The tension, and rhetoric, of anti-blasphemy protesters in Pakistan, are at the same fever pitch, as anti-Kavanaugh protests were during the senate hearings, surrounding Kavanaugh’s supreme court nomination (and subsequent confirmation) in the United States. Placards brandished about during the Ford-Kavanaugh debate which labeled Kavanaugh a rapist (without evidence or a judicial trial), have much of the same intensity as the placards brandished about by Islamist protestors in Pakistan. For evidence of this, see the long list of celebrity outrage expressed online against the…

CNN contributor says, censorship of Alex Jones is ‘an important step in recognizing hate speech as a form of terrorism.’
CNN Opinion asked a group of contributors to weigh in on the mass censorship of Alex Jones and InfoWars. One contributor was Rafia Zakaria, a “Muslim-American” author and columnist for Dawn newspaper in Pakistan and The Baffler. Zakaria told CNN that she sees the mass deletion of InfoWars as “an important step in recognizing hate speech as a form of terrorism.” “This new decision is a step forward in recognizing that hate outlets, such as InfoWars, are complicit in domestic terror, and a relief to Muslim-Americans, like myself, who have been the target of online assaults and threats.” Nobody likes terrorism,…
Shocking footage from UK Islamic school: ‘throw gays from the highest place.’
Tommy Robinson has shared leaked footage from a UK Islamic school teaching Sharia law. The shocking video shows a teacher informing female students that Muslims must kill gays. This only goes to show, as Ben Shapiro has pointed out, radicalism in the Muslim world is not limited to a tiny minority. It’s closer than we think. If someone makes… a woman like a man, the punishment is kill. Kill them. Throw them from the highest place. We are not going to be like animals, living like animals. Or to be like the people of Lot (homosexuals). We have to take…
Islamic Propaganda on Television? “From today we say ‘Allah'”
German television drama series, Lindenstraße (literally Lime Street), is said to be one of the most successful shows on German TV. The weekly soap is set in a fictional street in an average quarter of Munich and focuses on the lives of normal people. The video clip below is taken from an episode that was aired September 10, 2006, and is simply titled, Islam. In the clip, a woman is seen sitting with a child named Paul explaining something of great importance… Paul, I have to tell you something very important. I have told you about God who lives in heaven and…
Liberals ignoring basic freedoms
Rowan Dean, Lyle Shelton, and Morgan Begg discuss same-sex marriage, Safe Schools, anti-discrimination laws and the failure of senior Liberals to protect basic freedoms. Lyle Shelton’s remarks are worth highlighting: “This is not just a matter of religious protections. Freedom of speech is not even protected under the Dean Smith bill. That is a fact. Forget about paid professional clergy, or people like me who’ve got a faith. If you’re a non-Christian or a non-Muslim and you want to express the idea that marriage is between a man and a woman, you could be taken to a tribunal. That’s just…
Redefining marriage for 0.2% of the population
In Australia, marriage is currently defined as “the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.” Proponents of Same-Sex Marriage want this definition changed, so that marriage will no longer be exclusively limited to “the union of a man and a woman.” The redefining of marriage will allow for couples of the same gender to marry each other. Given the attention this subject has been granted of late, you’d be forgiven for thinking that same-sex couples made up a large percentage of the population. But in reality, that’s just not…
