A biological man who identifies as a woman is suing an Oregon beauty pageant after being refused entry into the all-female competition. Antia Green, 29, reportedly filed a federal lawsuit last week against the United States of America Pageants asking a judge to compel the organisation to accept his application and hand over “unspecified monetary damages,” Willamette Week reports. “I felt as though I was being invalidated,” Green said. “I felt as though the organisation was saying I am not a woman and I’m not woman enough.” Green accused the pageant of “discrimination” after they denied his application and returned…

A university professor has been sentenced to death by a court in Pakistan after being found guilty of blaspheming Islam on Facebook. Junaid Hafeez, a 33-year-old lecturer at the Bahauddin Zakariya University in the central Pakistani city of Multan, was accused of posting derogatory comments about Muhammad on social media in 2013. Prosecutors also charged Hafeez with “liking” a blasphemous Facebook page. On Saturday, a court in Multan found Hafeez guilty and sentenced him to death after a lengthy trial. A man in the US has been sentenced to at least 15 years in jail after burning an LGBTQ pride flag that was stolen from a church building. Adolfo Martinez, a 30-year-old from Ames, Iowa, was sentenced to 15 years on Wednesday after being found guilty of committing a “hate crime”. He was also sentenced to one year for reckless use of fire and 30 days for harassment. Martinez reportedly stole the flag, which was hanging at Ames United Church of Christ, and burned it outside the Dangerous Curves Gentleman’s Club, a strip club two blocks away from the church.…

The belief that people cannot change their biological sex is “not worthy of respect in a democratic society”, an employment tribunal has ruled. Maya Forstater, a researcher at the Centre for Global Development, was fired from her job after she was accused of using “offensive and exclusionary” language on Twitter. Diversity Council Australia is urging businesses to stop using the word “Christmas” because it might offend and discriminate against non-Christians. More than 1,000 Christians in Nigeria have been slaughtered by Islamic militants since January, a report by the Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust (HART) revealed. Islamic militants have shot dead 14 Christians during a Sunday morning church service in Komondjari Province, south-east Burkina Faso. According to the Barnabas Fund, the December 1 attack left 14 members of the Ouba family dead, including five boys, 16-years and younger. The pastor of the church, Tchitchiéba Ouoba, was also killed. A new $80-million vertical high school in Queensland is the first school in the state to be designed specifically without boys’ and girls’ separate toilets.
