Alliance Defending Freedom: Imagine your five-year-old daughter coming home from school and telling you that she was sexually assaulted in the girls’ bathroom. Now imagine going to school officials – the same officials who stand in your shoes as a parent during school hours – and being told that nothing is going to be done about it. Then, to make matters worse, imagine that the school files a report with the Department of Family and Children Services regarding the assault – but names you, the parent, as the responsible party.
Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to Pascha Thomas. That’s why Alliance Defending Freedom asked the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights to launch an investigation into this incident. It agreed to do so on September 21, 2018.
Mrs Thomas explains what happened the day her daughter was violently sexually assaulted.
My daughter stated to me that she was in class and she asked the teacher if she could go to the bathroom. And the teacher said yes.
So she was in the bathroom and she was pulling up her pants when one of her classmates came in the bathroom, a little boy. She tried to leave out of the bathroom.
The little boy pushed her against the bathroom tall, basically pinned her up against there. She asked him to stop, he wouldn’t.
He took his fingers and he was penetrating her through her pants and she asked him to stop and stated several times that it hurt. He refused.
