Two years after marriage was redefined in the U.K., Felix Ngole found himself in a discussion on Facebook. The topic was same-sex marriage, and during the discourse, the-father-of-four put forward the Christian position on the matter. At the time, Ngole was a postgraduate student, enrolled in a social work course at Sheffield University. Two months after posting his comment, Ngole received a letter from the university informing him that he was under investigation. He was eventually summoned to a disciplinary hearing where he was told that he had breached social work guidelines regarding “personal conduct” and “brought the profession into…

For a time, Country Mill Farm stopped hosting weddings altogether, but the officials still weren’t satisfied. The city’s attorney said, “This is not about speech and it’s not about religion. It’s about discrimination.” To Tennes, it’s about much…

Senator Cory Bernardi, leader of the Australian Conservatives, told Sky News: “There is evidence that multi-member marriages are being funded through Centrelink. “We know that, and they’re saying it’s cheaper to do it like that than to actually address the problem,” Senator Bernardi said. “They have multiple marriages, they have multiple children, and the system is being ripped off. The government knows that. It’s not doing anything about it.” WATCH:

The Northern Territory has passed new laws to allow individuals, including children, to legally change their gender without the need for surgery. The changes to the Birth, Deaths and Marriage Act allows people to register their gender as non-binary on their birth certificates, as well as making it easier for transgender people to change their sex without surgery. Parents will also be able to change the sex identity of their children. NT Attorney-General Natasha Fyles said, “Australians voted last year to allow same-sex marriage so there are consequential amendments needed in the NT.” “We are watching our nation going nuts,”…

If Australia’s Prime Minister is serious about fairness, he’ll preserve the right to a conscientious objection to SSM; the right for people to hold the view, and teach their kids that marriage is between a man and a woman; and that those children have a right to equal access to their biological father and mother. As I have hopefully made clear in the written contributions I’ve made to this national debate, I see the issues as a matter of social justice. The “no” vote has been about defending truth, liberty, fraternity, science, and even equality, from unbalanced ideological servitude. The State wants…

Britain’s Supreme Court has reversed a lower court ruling, saying that a bakery owned by a Christian family did not discriminate against a gay customer when they refused to bake a cake that read, “Support Gay Marriage.” In 2014 Ashers Baking Co. in Northern Ireland refused to bake the cake which also featured ‘Sesame Street’ characters Bert and Ernie. The owners argued that they should not be forced to put messages on their products at odds with their Christian faith. On Wednesday the high court agreed, and the five justices on the court were unanimous in their judgment. “In a…

An advertisement recently released by Huggies nappies features a baby boy and his two lesbian mothers. Noticeably absent from the scene is the child’s father. But why should that matter? The baby has two mothers, and one with a fairly masculine haircut, so what’s the issue? What LGBTQ propaganda continues to imply is the superfluous nature of fathers and their replaceable role. There is nothing inherent or unique to being a father. There is nothing a father brings to the rearing of a child that a second mother couldn’t imitate. There was always going to be a knock-on effect. You…

It wasn’t just about a vote about marriage. In fact, it would be about rolling back the way the system currently works for religious organisations to decide whether or not they can hire people based on their sexuality, whether they can decide to marry people based on their…

The Prime Minister was beside himself, as he punched the air, like an Aussie batsman who had just scored a century against the old foe, England. ‘Australia has done it,’ he proclaimed, ‘What a day for love, for equality, for respect.’ Step aside Neville Chamberlain who was overjoyed at guaranteeing peace in our time in 1938. Here is Malcolm Turnbull in 2017: ‘This belongs to us all. This is Australia…

We’re told, it didn’t start with marriage and it won’t end with marriage, and neither should our efforts to protect our children. Marriage Equality Rally, Sydney 2017: “We are on the verge of winning this, and then we can pour our energy into other pressing things, like making sure transgender rights in the military are not rolled back, and that Safe Schools becomes a reality for all school children, in every state, public or private schools. It didn’t start with marriage, and it won’t end with marriage – but still, what a sweet celebration that promises to be.”
