Britain’s Supreme Court has reversed a lower court ruling, saying that a bakery owned by a Christian family did not discriminate against a gay customer when they refused to bake a cake that read, “Support Gay Marriage.” In 2014 Ashers Baking Co. in Northern Ireland refused to bake the cake which also featured ‘Sesame Street’ characters Bert and Ernie. Journalist Laura Loomer and Toronto mayoral candidate Faith Goldy were barred from entering the Islamic Society of North America’s conference in Toronto on Sunday. The event, featuring Linda Sarsour and Siraj Wahhaj, was promoted as a free event that was open to everybody. Amendments to the Sex Discrimination Act which would ensure the rights of Australians in the wedding service industry are protected has been rejected, 36 to 3.
