On March 16 the World Naked Bike Ride is set to hit Melbourne for the 14th year in a row. The event started off in 2006 with only 14 riders, however over recent years, hundreds of people have shown up to strip off and participate in the event. According to one of the organisers, the idea behind the naked ride is to highlight blinding and vulnerability issues, protest car culture, and promote positive body image. A statement on the event’s website explains: “Through our naked and highly visible presence on the streets of Melbourne, we aim to: Highlight the vulnerability…

The Australian Family Coalition has warned, the Greens are seeking to push radical new abortion laws through the South Australian Parliament. “These laws are arguably the most extreme in Australia – and amongst the worst in the world,” AFC said. “The Statutes Amendment (Abortion Law Reform) Bill, introduced by Greens MLC Tammy Franks shortly before Christmas, has been spruiked as ‘progressive’ and promoting a ‘healthy choice’ – but the stark reality is otherwise.” AFC went on to warn that if passed, the law would: Allow abortion up to birth, for any reason or none; Permit sex-selective abortions; Remove the need for…

This week, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that well known, and trusted, Australian media royalty, Ita Buttrose, would be taking on the chair of the Australian Broadcasting Company (The ABC). Her appointment to the chair provides hope for many of Australia’s taxpayers who want to see a return to a fairer, more representative ABC; one that represents Australia, Australian culture, and Australians. In other words, having a National broadcaster, that upholds a healthy Australian nationalism. Buttrose’s statements during the press conference point in this direction. [The ABC] is a voice of the Australian people. I think it reflects our identity,…

Over the weekend the ABC’s Q&A asked their Twitter followers if Catholicism had done more harm to Australia than Islam. Attached to the question was an article from The Guardian with the implied answer. The piece, written by Labor’s Kristina Keneally, and published back in February 2017, was titled: “Catholicism has done more harm to Australia than Islam.” At the time, Keneally wrote in defence of the ABC’s Yasmin Abdel-Magied after she was criticised following an appearance on Q&A in which she claimed that Islam was the most feminist religion. Has Catholicism done more harm to Australia than Islam? via…

Google has introduced a new “LGBTQ-friendly” business attribute to encourage customers to “find the people and places that celebrate” the LGBTQ lifestyle. The tech giant is also urging businesses to “be an ally” by publicly listing themselves under the rainbow flag as “LGBTQ-friendly” and “safe spaces” for transgender people. More bizarre than that, Google went on to claim that LGBTQ+ people have had difficulty finding businesses willing to serve them in Australia. “While marriage equality has been legal in Australia for over a year, finding businesses that are open to everyone hasn’t always been easy for members of the LGBTQ+…

Netflix is promoting their latest original series, Sex Education. The sexually explicit program tells the story of a teenage boy and his high school classmates teaming up to create an underground sex therapy clinic at school. Regardless of whether the recently convicted George Pell, is innocent or guilty, there is a precedent in the latest Pell case (verdict) that should send a shudder along the spine of every citizen in Australia. Greg Craven, lawyer and columnist for The Australian, explains why. Craven asks whether social media and the MSM had an influence on the juror’s view of Pell. His question is a good one. Is bias in media reporting, and among some officials, responsible for Pell having been convicted of the crime, in the minds of his jurors, before he was even brought to trial? The police and…

A few months ago, Apologia Studios visited Australia and New Zealand as part of their End Abortion Now conference. During their time in Sydney, Jeff Durbin, Luke Pierson, and Zach Conover reflected on the state of the culture in the West. Jeff Durbin: “One of the interesting things to note, both in American culture and in Australian culture — and really with any culture that was once started by Christians, or the Christian worldview was in the atmosphere — is when you look at how those cultures have abandoned their foundations now, you don’t just get things like the culture…

Sydney Morning Herald reports: Sonia Kruger vilified Muslim people when she called for Australia to close its borders to those of the Islamic faith during a segment on the Today show, but did not engage in racial vilification because Muslim people living in Australia are not a race, a tribunal has found. In a decision on Friday, the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal said Kruger’s “vilifying remarks” in July 2016 “amounted to a stereotypical attack on all Muslims in Australia” and had the capacity to “encourage hatred towards, or serious contempt for, Australian Muslims by ordinary members of the Australian population”. Australian Labor and the Greens, together with crossbench MPs have passed new laws making it easier for Leftist doctors to order medical evacuations of illegal immigrants held in offshore processing facilities. Prime Minister Scott Morrison slammed the move in a press conference, calling it “proof positive that Bill Shorten and the Labor Party do not have the mettle, do not have what is required and do not understand what is necessary to ensure that Australia’s border protection framework and broader national security interests can be managed by the Labor Party.” Our border protection framework works. We stopped the boats, stopped…

Are we fighting the postmodernists with one hand tied behind our backs? Intellectual battles are the cognitive lifeblood of a healthy society. Life is complicated and the stakes are high, so thoughtful and passionate people have lots of arguments. Only by argument can we sort out the facts about complicated matters. Only by putting our ideas to the test of evidence and by being willing to change our minds can we make progress. Intellectual fighting is not often fun, but it is better than settling our differences by physical fighting. The advantage of being an intelligent species, Austrian philosopher Karl…
