Denmark will now require parents seeking a divorce to undergo a mandatory online course and wait three months before separating. According to The Christian Post: “The Danish Parliament agreed in March to implement a mandatory ‘reflection period’ of three months and require parents who have children 18 years old and younger to take an online course before a divorce can be finalized.” The course, called ‘Co-operation After Divorce’ is designed to help couples reflect on the ramifications of divorce, especially from the perspective of their children. UPDATE: Library coordinator has since apologised for displaying this book in the Junior Area and acknowledged the book was incorrectly labeled as a Junior item and should not have been displayed in the children’s area. The library have corrected the labeling of all copies of the book to ensure the book is located in the Adult Non-Fiction section in future. Two years after marriage was redefined in the U.K., Felix Ngole found himself in a discussion on Facebook. The topic was same-sex marriage, and during the discourse, the-father-of-four put forward the Christian position on the matter. The Telegraph UK published a piece yesterday encouraging married couples to, at the very least, discuss the possibility of a “consensual non-monogamous” marriage. Hidden away, near to the middle of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s ‘The Cost of Discipleship,’ rests a three page essay on marriage called ‘Woman.’ Why Bonhoeffer named this chapter so specifically is a mystery.  My best guess here is that he was looking to the growing ease by which society has sold and objectified sex. The chapter is an analysis of Jesus’ views on marriage, divorce and sexual immortality; or as Bonhoeffer states, ‘sexual irregularities’(p.85).
